Aluminium is one of the products of the Ecogas process.

The plastic and aluminium particles separated from liquid packages are blown into a furnace after the fibre has been recovered for coreboard manufacturing. In the heat of the furnace, plastic is converted into energy and aluminium melts down to be recovered for further use. The Ecogas process enables every part of liquid packages to be recycled.

The aluminium granules produced in the Ecogas plant are used in various technical applications. Aluminium recovery in the Ecogas process requires only 5 % of the energy used in aluminium production from bauxite, so even this part of the process is environmentally friendly.
